From Monday to Wednesday, the state competition “Jugend forscht” took place at the Ruhr University Bochum. 75 participants from NRW presented 48 projects from 7 areas to the jury. The participants were awarded in the Audimax of the Ruhr University and the state winners qualified for the national final in Bremen.

For the GyHo, Ben Siebert started with his project CodeUp in the field of working environment. Programming beginners can use this platform to learn the basics of developing web applications. The platform follows a holistic approach in which users can not only acquire knowledge but also directly implement what they have learned and actively interact with other users. Beginners can learn everything they need to develop their own web applications with the video courses and the interactive quizzes at the end of each lesson.

With this fantastic performance, Ben won the state victory and also a special prize and will represent the GyHo at the national competition. We wish him every success!

The supervising teacher, Mrs. Schmidtseifer-Sürig received a special award for project supervisors and an invitation to the Science on Stage Festival.
